Hi I'm Madeline Morrison

I grew up in Utah and have been attending BYU. I have also been cheering there for the past 2 years and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Madeline and I grew up in a family of 5 girls. I am towards the end of my family being number 4. My sisters are my best friends and because we are so close in age we do everything together. I have lived in Bountiful Utah my whole life and have loved every minute of it. While I was in high school I taught dance to underprivileged kids and it really made me realize how blessed I am! The past 2 years I have been attending BYU. I have also had the opportunity to be a cheerleader there. I have learned so much while I have cheered and while taking classes at BYU. One thing that I have learned to love is running and being physically fit. I just feel so much better about myself and things around me when I get up and workout. It has become a way of living in my life. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life and I don't know where I would be without it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy! I have loved the joy this gospel brings to me. The guidelines and standards this church has given me has not restricted me in any way it has actually been so helpful to me and has saved me a lot of heartache. I am a Mormon because it brings peace to me knowing that I will be able to spend the rest of my life, even after death with my family. Knowing I have people all over the world that share the same religion as me, we automatically have a bond and a friendship. I always have someone with me even at my darkest times. God is always there to listen to me and to help me whenever I need him. He understand me and knows the feelings of my heart. When I put my trust in him I know he is there to help me and wants the best for me. This brings me so much peace when I am feeling sad. I love the gospel and my religion. It is a part of me and always will be. It brings me more happiness than anything else in this world ever could. I am a Mormon because I know it is the only way I will have everlasting happiness even after this earth life.

How I live my faith

I have loved being a Mormon and it has brought so much comfort to me. Since I love the way my religion makes me feel I am always trying to help teach others about it. One way I live my faith is by being kind to others and trying to have a special light about me. When I live righteously others can see and feel of the Lord's presence in me. If they are unfamiliar with my religion they tend to ask why I am so happy and I am able to then share what I know to be true. Another way is just being an example to others around me. By being an example I have actually helped a very dear friend of mine get baptized. My best friend and I have known each other since 4th grade. I never tried pushing my religion on her I would just invite her to different church activities and would bring her around my family. Because of our lifestyle, she started to become curious. She started to ask questions and soon an appointment was set up with her to meet with the missionaries. She took the missionary discussions and was later baptized. She got baptized in the 9th grade and we just finished our sophomore year at college and she is now getting ready to attend the temple to be married. I am so grateful that because of what I believe and the way I live my life, others have been able to come to that same knowledge and improve their lives for good!
