Hi I'm Erik

¡¿Qué pasa?! I'm Erik Anderson, I love family, sports, my friends, sports with friends! Hawaiian shave ice? I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love life! I have played Rugby in England and toured in Europe, am obsessed with football (soccer for all those Americans), and American Football! I am going to Brigham Young University for a degree in Chemical Engineering (hopefully... that whole freshman year of messing around didn't do much to help).I am currently serving my mission in San Diego California, hablando Español! I'm a Mormon! I absolutely love anything outside and serving in San Diego is perfect for me! I get to walk A LOT and the watch tan is coming in beautifully as I walk around as a Mormon Missionary. As well as just loving to be outside, I just think talking to people and learning about their lives, struggles, and where they come from is something I love doing; everyone is different and every story is incredible. Oh. I also love people who rollerblade and who love sunflowers. OH, don't let me forget the grapefruit shave ice! If ANY GIRL likes grapefruit shave ice. Oh. And eye speckles.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church by a Mother and Father faithful to the church; it is through them that I have been able to catch a glimpse of how beautiful the gospel of Christ is. I lived a long time being surrounded by the Gospel, but not being converted to it. Of course, like everyone in our Church, to be converted you have to know. I kneeled down and prayed to my God, for my knowledge, about if he was there and what he wanted from me. I cannot describe how I felt then, only that the Lord was just waiting for me to ask him and let me know what he wanted from me. I am proud to be a Mormon because it stands for so many respectable values and virtues. I know that Joseph Smith was divinely inspired for the events that he both performed and caused and I believe strongly in Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness and what it means for us. I love my savior, Jesus Christ, and I know of the agonizing pain he endured both on the cross and in Gethsemane. For me. There is no gift more sacred to me. Because of this great sacrifice, I know that despite my many shortcomings, the Lord will bless me, beyond what I deserve. The infinitesimally small knowledge that I have of this sacrifice enables me to feel and know that Jesus Christ has been through everything that I have. This enabling knowledge and hope that I have builds me up every day and allows me to be everything that I am. I love this church and can testify of the truth it holds and contains for us, when we are ready to hear it.

How I live my faith

The great thing about being a Mormon is how I get to LIVE my faith, EVERY day, and in EVERY second. I am constantly striving to become a better person and the area I focus on the most is love! I love everyone I meet and see; whether on the street or in the Church, we are all God's children and I try my best to strengthen and demonstrate this love to everyone around me! I have had the opportunity to participate in many callings within the Church. Of all the callings I have held, I love working in the nursery and the primary!! The children's enthusiasm and honesty is overwhelming and I think they are hilarious! I maybe spend about 90% of my time just laughing, might not be too good for the kids but.... But really, this calling also helped me realize how special every individual soul is to God and how he desires SO MUCH for all of us. We are all so blessed to be here on Earth, as sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. God desires EVERY SINGLE SOUL to come unto him and as a missionary of our church, I have never been more privileged to be trusted with this sacred obligation. Every day, I remember how Jesus reached out to the one. If there was just one person missing from his church, Jesus would go and individually minister to them. I try my best every day to do the same!
