Hi I'm Jeanell

I'm a Filipino. I'm a daughter. I'm a sister. I'm a teacher. I will be a missionary soon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Marketing student major in Advertising and will be graduating this May. I received my mission call and will be serving soon at Cauayan Philippines. I love dancing, acting and baking. I also love to teach especially the youth. I love to play with kids. I love to smile and to laugh and to make others smile and laugh too. I love my family and want to be with them forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love to go to church every Sunday, to dress in my Sunday best and to listen to the testimonies of the church members and messages of our leaders. I am a Mormon because I love teaching the youth of the Church, inspiring them to be who they are destined to be and realize their potentials as sons and daughters of God. I am a Mormon because I love visiting my sisters who are in need of comfort and love. I am a Mormon because I love to be peculiar by dressing modestly, not saying bad words, not drinking liquor and other strong drinks, respecting other people, keeping the Sabbath Day Holy and believing what we believe. I am a Mormon because I love to know that Families can be together forever, that there is a life after death and we can be together again with our loved ones who died, that we have a living prophet who leads this dispensation in righteousness and receives revelation from God and that Heavenly Father Loves his children and the only way to go back to his Kingdom is by following the example of His son, Jesus Christ, keep his commandments and enduring to the end. I am a Mormon because I love to be one.

How I live my faith

I was born in the covenant and raised in the church. My parents were married at the Manila Philippines Temple. Throughout my childhood, I tried to follow my parents' will. I went to church, attended classes and activities because my mother said so or because that's what I know to be right. But I didn't have my own testimony about the Church or its teaching. I know it's true because others say so. When I turned 18, everything changed. I attended a 3 day conference for the youth of the church and it came to be the turning point of my life. I started praying sincerely to Heavenly Father, asking him for forgiveness for all the wrong things I've done. I also started reading the Book of Mormon everyday. Then, I found my testimony growing and I felt that I'm closer to heavenly Father ever than before. Sometimes I feel like a child again, feeling doubtful, inadequate and my faith decreasing. When those days come, I pray sincerely to Heavenly Father to have the companionship of the Spirit, I read messages of the Lord's prophets and disciples and study other church materials. I also strive to ponder the scriptures and ask in Faith to receive inspiration from on high. With these simple practices, I feel that I am encircled again with the love of the Lord for his children. To always feel closer to him, I live my faith by participating in Church activities, attending church meetings every Sunday, doing my responsibility in the church such as visiting other members and teaching the girls in the ward ages 12-18, going to the temple and working with the missionaries every week. I also have personal study of the scriptures and personal prayer. What I love doing the most is sacrificing my time to serve other people.
