Hi I'm Vickie Smith
I am a medical transcriptionist, a mother of 6 and grandmother of 20 and I am a Mormon.
About Me
I am a mother of 6 children and grandmother of 20. My greatest interest is music and studied music education and voice in college. My newest interest is playing the organ. I am a medical transcriptionist While living in Beijing for 32 months, I taught medical terminology to medical students at a Beijing medical university one semester while my husband taught primary care medicine then we both taught English. After my marriage,I had the priviledge of singing with the Tabernacle Choir for 9 months. Other opportunies to participate musically were with community choirs, an opera theatre, summer musicals and as a costume designer. My hobbies include race walking, jogging, hiking, camping, XC skiing, biking, rowing, cooking and gardening with my husband. I love spending time with my family.
Why I am a Mormon
As a member of the church, I know it's teachings are true because of what I have felt in my heart and soul. I know I am a child of God who loves me and I love Him and His son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. The church teaches that families are the basic unit of the Gospel and are of eternal worth.
How I live my faith
Wherever my husband and I have lived, I have served as a choir director and doing so currently. I am now playing the organ for church meetings. I have taught young children, young women, and adult women. I served on a committee which coordinated church and community activities for 9 years. I served 12 years as scout and medical explorer leader with my husband, 2 sons and 2 daughters.
