Hi I'm John

I grew up all over the US as a military child. I went to high school in Italy. I'm student at BYU. I'm a Mormon..

About Me

The second oldest of fourteen, I have eight sisters and five brothers. My father has been in the military most of my life. Growing up, I moved twelve times -- I was able to live in five different countries, in both Europe and Africa. After graduating high school, I decided to attend Brigham Young University. I recently completed my freshman year of college there. In my free time, I enjoy being active - exercising, playing sports, or just spending time outside (during the warmer months, at least -- I don't enjoy the cold). I also like spending time with my family when I get to visit them. They're definitely a huge part of my life. I'm currently serving as a missionary in the Belgium/Netherlands mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon and was baptized when I was 8 because my entire immediate family before me was Mormon. I am a Mormon today because I've gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've questioned my religion and prayed for faith, but as I've lived the principles of the gospel, I've seen my life be blessed beyond belief. As I've gone through trials, I've felt the power of Heavenly Father's love and Christ's great sacrifice for us. I know that He loves each one of us beyond measure, and He wants us all to know and understand that love. I know that someday, I can spend all eternity with my family, both the family I have now and the family I will have in the future. I have a testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith, who was called by God to translate the Book of Mormon and establish His Church on the earth. I've seen the gospel found within the scriptures (the Bible and the Book of Mormon), the gospel taught within the Church, change my own life and the life of others. I firmly believe all this, and that is why I will be serving an LDS mission for two years, starting this June -- so I can bring the small and simple truths, the comforting yet eternal truths, to others, so that their lives may be blessed with happiness and faith as mine has been.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith both in church and outside it. I love visiting the temple, and I attend church every Sunday. In my past callings, I've had opportunities to teach, lead, and organize others within the wards I've attended. I really appreciate the calling all priesthood holders are given to hometeach - as I've taught those I've been assigned to teach and developed a love for them, I've seen changes within myself and seen blessings within my life. I aim (not perfectly, but hey) to serve all those I come in contact with, both fellow members of the LDS Church and others.
