Hi I'm Martin Quick

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I’m a school teacher of Design Technology. I am married to a wonderful wife who shares my beliefs. I am a father of one son and a step-father of two. I love playing squash and eating (but not always at the same time!).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born having a deep and in-built conviction that there is a God in heaven but a general mistrust and scepticism about organised religions. I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when missionaries called at my Mum’s house. I was then in my early twenties with lots of questions about life and not many answers. I then spent eighteen months on and off debating with various missionaries. Following a number of spiritual experiences I began to take their message more seriously. During a visit to the temple in Preston I met a man who had a light that radiated from him and obvious happiness. I realised that I needed what he had. That clinched the deal and I was baptised soon after. Thirteen years later I am amazed at the transformation that has happened to me. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ has the power to provide forgiveness of sins AND to transform man.

How I live my faith

I am regularly given opportunities to serve others while at church and during the week. Prayer and scripture study inspires me to look for ways to be a better husband, parent, human being generally! I love the closeness I feel to my Heavenly Father as I seek ways to help others.
