Hi I'm Christa

I've lived on three different continents. I'm a political scientist and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am attending Brigham Young University. I'm studying political science. I have lived in Sao Paulo, Jerusalem, and now Provo. I love seeing the world around me-the landscapes, the buildings, and the people. My greatest ambition is to make the world a better place and become an Olympian.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised Mormon, it has always been my choice whether or not to BE a Mormon. My whole life it has always made sense to me to be a Mormon, but I do remember when I was 19 years-old making a choice that this is what I really wanted to be. I had a lot of people telling me that being a Mormon was wrong. I remember praying, and asking God if He really was even there. I was really confused and I felt so alone. But I remember that every time I prayed and took time to read scriptures, especially the Book or Mormon, I didn't feel alone. I felt peace and clarity. I took this to be my answer and I continue to take this as my Answer. God loves His children and He wants them to be happy, feel loved, and have peace. This is possible when we believe in Him and follow his teachings. This does not mean that hard times will not come, but I do believe that it means that when hard time comes we can still feel peace and love and be happy because we have hope in God's plan. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches these principles. I am happy when I follow the doctrine of this Church and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. As a Mormon I believe that the best way to follow the teachings of Jesus is through His restored Church and His living Prophets. It is important to me that I have a personal relationship with the Jesus Christ and I'm trying to follow Him because I want to and not because anyone has told me to. I live my faith by praying daily, reading the scriptures daily, and going to church weekly. In the moment I may not feel like I have time to do these things, but every time I make the sacrifice I feel peace and clarity and I am able to finish my daily "to do" list. "With God all things are possible."-Matthew 19:26
