Hi I'm Crystal

I'm from Arizona. I love the smell of summer rain. I love horse riding and going on adventures. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the seventh child out of eight. I have 6 brothers, 1 sister, 6 nieces, and 2 nephews. My family means the world to me. Throughout my life I have enjoyed being outside: exploring, hiking, camping, paint balling, shooting, fishing, mountain biking, rappelling, etc. I absolutely love to sing, play the piano or the ukulele, and listen to music. There is hardly a time when I'm not humming or singing! I love to ride horses. I have performed on horseback at rodeos, festivals, and parades carrying the flag of my country: the United States of America. Recently, I finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I loved it there! In July 2013, I start my service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called to serve in the Canada Calgary mission! I am so excited for this opportunity to serve the Lord and the Canadian people. I have been so blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this church is true. Really, that is why I am a Mormon. I have never felt so much joy, peace, or happiness as I do when I'm following the Savior. This gospel is full of hope. I am not a perfect person. I have made mistakes, I have gone through hard trials, I have felt alone but through my Savior I have been healed. I have been cleaned. I have been forgiven. I am so grateful for my Savior, my Redeemer. I know he lives.

How I live my faith

This gospel is about being happy, so I try to be at all times. This gospel is about spending time with those you love. Yes, hard times come but through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I can get through anything, because I know he is there for me. Also, I attend my church meetings on Sundays, where I can be uplifted by others and by my Savior. I enjoy serving others. Recently, I had the opportunity to serve people who's home was sunk in a flood. In my ward, I served as a Relief Society (the organization for the women of the church) teacher. I loved teaching! Also, I read my scriptures and try to learn more about my faith. There's always more to learn and I want to know as much as I can! The LDS church is not just a religion, it's a way to live my life so that I am happy. And trust me, the peace that comes... it's real.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Of course not. We believe that everyone is a son or daughter of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our brothers and sisters. Although, others may not believe what we believe, we know that Heavenly Father loves them and needs us to help them. Just a couple weeks ago, I volunteered with the "Mormon Helping Hands" group in Alberta, Canada to help people with flood relief for the horrible recent flooding. If I remember correctly, no one that we helped was actually a member of our faith. Jesus has commanded us to "love one another", so we try and do just that! Show more Show less
