Hi I'm Karl Andersen

I'm a college student. I'm a new dad. I love the outdoors and making new friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an undergraduate student preparing for medical school. I love helping other people by relieving their pain and bringing them happiness. I love hiking and running. Family is everything to me. The teachings of Christ have strengthened my relationship with my wife and helped me know how to be a good husband and father.

Why I am a Mormon

Some say that man created God to comfort himself and to give himself hope for life after this temporal existence. The legacy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the blessings its teachings provide yield stunning evidence that there is much more to it than mere conjure. A purely empirical view of the results of living principles and guidelines taught in this church indicate that every aspect of life is positively affected—from family to career, and from purpose to prosperity—these teachings affect daily living and the happiness found in that living. But there is so much more than meets the trained observing eye. Christ’s pure teachings, unadulterated by millennia and brought to the cognition of modern society through a living mouthpiece of God, change who we are and lift downtrodden spirits to the freedom of peace and exulting joy. Thousands of members of this church could share their individual experience with this pure truth, but one, my own, is particularly poignant to my feelings and disposition. The gospel of Jesus Christ reveals that God has invested his existence into the eternal progress of mankind. This personal investment is a clear sign of his infinite love for each one of us personally. As I have realized this, and that God has a perfect plan intended to bring me the most possible happiness and to bring me to be the best person I can possibly become, I have known that this belief is the course my life must take, for my good and the good of my family. I can honestly say that my faith in Jesus Christ and my commitment to follow Him have guided the greater part of my decisions throughout my life and have provided purpose to my life that is not available anywhere else. Is there no better evidence of the truth of God than experience living that truth? I submit that there is not. My life and my view of the world are completely different than they would have been had I not chosen to believe. Find out for yourself. Live it and SEE.

How I live my faith

I love interacting on a frequent basis with my neighbors and friends in the church. I help schedule appointments for our ecclesiastical leader (Bishop). In this responsibility, I get to know everyone in our congregation, about 200 people. It's great to be in a position to be able to help people when they need it. My wife and I visit people who need spiritual uplifting and sometimes provide meals to new parents. We love living in a community of people who believe in and love Jesus Christ.
