Hi I'm Caitlin Trusty

I am a daughter, a sister, an sports enthusiast, a missionary. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

As I was finishing my freshman year at college, I had the opportunity to leave my home behind and serve the Lord in the Texas Fort Worth Mission; I am the oldest of three children in my family, and I love it so much! My family means everything to me; my siblings are my best friends! My parents are so great, I love them so much! It has never mattered what I am doing, my parents are the most supportive people in my life! . Another way I find release is through sports, especially soccer. It is kind of an obsession actually... I love it so much!! It is the best sport in the world, there is no argument. :) Whether I am reading a book, playing a pick up game of soccer, or spending time with my family, I am able to look around and smile (which can cure anything!), and know that I have been blessed with a lot.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me a member of the church, but there have been times, in my life, where I didn't know if it was true or not. I didn't really like going to church, I didn't read from the scriptures and I didn't pray. And then, because He loves me, God chastised me, and there were (and still are) many difficult and hard things that I have had to go through. However, it was at those times, that I was able to rely on, and go back to, the things that my parents taught me since I was little (to pray, read the scriptures, attend church), and I became so much closer to my Savior. And I came to know for myself that this church is God's church. I may be young, I may be inexperienced compared to most people, but I know, without a sliver of doubt, that this Gospel is true. It has brought peace into my life, and I know that everything will be okay, because I know that God loves me! I also know that, because He loves us, that He has given us prophet today to lead us and guide us. All these things I know because I have felt the Spirit tell be that they are true. And that is why I have chosen to stay a Mormon!

How I live my faith

My faith is my life, even if it is something that I don't always understand. What I do know is that as I live the way Jesus Christ would want me to, I can accomplish anything. It is through the power of prayer, that I have been able to gain a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven. As I have read from the Book of Mormon, and the Bible, I have been able to feel the peace that Christ has promised.. I hope that as I serve my mission that I will be able to develop the attributes (faith, charity, love, mercy, etc.) that Christ displayed. I hope that I can help people come unto Christ. As I have served a full time mission, I have come to realize all that He has given me, I have been forced out of my stubborn ways and have been taught to rely on Him for everything. My faith is still growing, and I am far from perfect, but I am determined to do the very best that I can to continually follow the Savior's example. I will always serve those in need, help others who have fallen down, and love all those whom I meet. I know that as I am always trying to be like the Savior, then all will be well.
