Hi I'm Douglas

I live on beautiful Vancouver Island, I ride motorcycles and scooters, I am an airbrush artist and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an airbrush artist and relatively new to it with less than two years practice but have airbrushed some scooters and motorcycles as well as multiple other things. I have been a drummer all my life and have toured all over B.C. in different bands trying to "make it" but alas our Heavenly Father must have some greater plan for me. I do hope to have a wife one day that is firmly planted in the gospel of Christ-because I will not marry outside the church, not after I have seen the happiness it brings families to live in the gospel. I want that and expect to have that for myself, and for her.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a christian when I was a child but did not find the church of Jesus Christ of later day saints until I was 38. I have always loved the stories and teachings from the New Testament and searched my whole life for a church that believed and taught as Jesus taught. My conversion was not swift though as I needed a sure sign even though I did know this is Jesus church. After my baptism I got what I was searching for all my life through the power of the Holy Ghost, it was the most remarkable day of my life and I have been assured for a fact that God does live, that his son Jesus is real and all things written in the book of Mormon are true. I am so thankful for this knowledge in my life, in my mind and in my heart.

How I live my faith

I participate in church events and speak openly of my beliefs when not at church events, though I don't push what I know on people I frequently get asked about the church and its teachings. I find it a joy to tell of what I have learned from communicating with our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus. I have made friendships that lift my heart to know these people and feel privileged to have these same people in my life. The knowledge that this is just a proving ground has always helped me to endure the hard times that come to us all here on earth. And while this life can be tough I can get a satisfaction to know that it will not last forever, the tough parts will pass and I will learn something from them. I may not have chosen these hard times in life but I do choose to make it through, one day they will be no more and I, I will still stand because the Lord walks with me. I am continually thankful for what the Lord God has given me and I will be eternally thankful because he gave me an eternity. In this life I may not be much but I know this, that I am loved.
