Hi I'm Luke

I just recently returned from from serving a full time mission in the Canada Vancouver Mission.

About Me

I just recently returned from my mission so I am currently transitioning into "regular life" again. I live at home and am working full time and preparing to attend college. I grew up being very active in sports and recreation. I played baseball my whole life up until my mission, I love hunting and fishing, riding my dirt bike, and anything outdoors. I love to have a good time and laugh!

Why I am a Mormon

The first 18 years of my life I did not consciously know God nor have a relationship with Him. There was no desire in my heart to do so. There was never one moment in my life that led me not to have this relationship with God or to live a "spiritual life". It was all gradual, as I made certain choices, and then more and more wrong choices I became numb and desensitized. My heart just led me in different direction. Beginning at age 18 there were very specific events that begin to happen. God began to reach into my life Himself and through others in very specific and profound ways. In the moment it was frustrating because I didn't want it! I feel as if He knew I would be grateful down the road for the changes that would come in my life (which I am) so he brought my life to a halt. He gave me no other choice (it seemed) but to follow Him. This may sound controlling but I choice full heartily to change. The reason why is because the powerful spiritual expieriences that happened in my life at this time, I could not deny. I had to make a choice to deny these experiences that impacted my heart and soul so profoundly or to take the leap and follow Him. So I chose to take the leap. I began to pray and read. I began to build a relationship with God. I left on a mission not knowing much at all. My mission and every second of it changed me completely, it changed my nature and who I am inside and out. It brought me true joy and had never expierienced. I know that God lives. He truly is our literal Father in Heaven. His son Jesus Christ is our Savior and the only way. I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost, only through His sanctifying and cleansing power can I stand clean today and state that God lives and that this church is true. Joseph Smith is a modern day prophet of God, The Book of Mormon is absolutely another testament of Jesus Christ! I promise you as you diligently ponder its words sincerely and in humble prayer the Spirit will witness this to you in a very personal way.

How I live my faith

As I have said previously I just recently returned from serving the Lord full time in Canada. This expierience has changed me and my life forever. And even though I am not in Canada wearing a name tag and a suit and tie every day, the name tag is forever impressed upon my heart and I will strive to still continually serve God and others full time, wherever i reside. I know from expierience that in order for me to obtain the most joy in this life I must continually serve God and others selflessly. Living my faith is not just professing that i am a Mormon, and not just going to church every sunday. I am an "all in" kind of guy. In order to truly profess our faith in Christ we must live the gospel couragesly. We must continually excercise faith, we must continually testify, me must continually receive personal direction from our Faither in Heaven, we must continually grow. The path back to our Heavenly Father is not just jumping through some hoops and participating in practices alone, it is not a plateau. It is an incline. It is continually making ourselves better inside and out through the Atonement of His son Jesus Christ. I love the scripture in the Book of Mormon, Helaman 3:35 "Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God" This is how I try to live my life by continually progressing and giving my heart to God.
