Hi I'm Alicia

I grew up in Utah. I'm a stay at home mom. I have my own online Etsy shop. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6 kids. I have 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. During my senior year of high school, I studied Cosmetology at Capelli Institute of Hair. After I graduated High school I started dating my husband, and we were engaged two weeks after I graduated from hair school. We were married in March of 2009 and we now have two beautiful little girls. I am currently a stay at home mom, but it is not all that I do. I run my own in-home salon, and I also have a very successful online Etsy store that I run with my sister. Although I love hair and crafting, those are not my only interests. I really love photography, and music is a passion of mine. I have been playing the piano since I was 7, and I also followed in my dads footsteps and I play the drums. I also really enjoy sports: baseball/softball, and football being my favorites and I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

The easiest answer to this is that I was raised LDS- which is true, but as a teenager, I knew that I needed to figure out for myself if I believed what my family believed. So I did a lot of studying and praying. I have never really had a huge 'A-ha' moment, but my testimony of the gospel came slowly, bit by little bit, until I without a doubt knew that the church was true. I know that God is our father and that he loves each and every one of us. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and that without him and his Atonement, I would not be where I am today. My testimony has only gotten stronger the older that I get, and the more wonderful experiences that I have or that I witness. I know that God answers our prayers. I have felt his presence and comfort in times of great trial, or even when I just feel discouraged and need his support. He brings me such peace and joy, especially when I need him the most. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In church, me and my husband have the opportunity to teach the youth (14-15 year olds) in Sunday School. It has been an amazing opportunity. The young men and women are great, and we love being a part of such an amazing group of kids. Besides my calling in the church, I try to live my faith everyday by doing the things that God wants me to do. Me and my husband do our best to teach our children about the church and just how to be their best selves, and good examples to those around them. I just try to be the best person that I can be for my family, and those around me, but most importantly I try to be my best for my Heavenly Father.
