Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in Utah, I love to play basketball, I want to be a Physician's Assistant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play the piano and do pretty much anything outside. I'm majoring in Neuroscience with the intention to attend Physician's Assistant school. I served a mission in Birmingham, Alabama (spanish speaking). I love traveling and went to Greece, Turkey, and Italy with my parents. My family is the most important thing in the WORLD to me and I cherish every moment with them!

Why I am a Mormon

I never had one true moment when I was converted to this church because I was lucky enough to be raised in it. For most of my life, I was only a Mormon because my parents told me to be one and I didn't want to rock the boat. However, once I moved out for college, I was forced to make a decision. Should I find my own testimony or just give up on the church and sleep in on Sundays? One thing about our church that kept me going was the way it makes me feel. I have felt so much happiness, peace, and hope because of it and I didn't want that to end. So I kept up with the church, attended the temple, read the Book of Mormon, and prayed a lot. After doing everything I was supposed to do, I was certain that those wonderful feelings came because I was living the gospel. This was my driving force because I couldn't understand why something that wasn't true would make me feel that way. I began to earnestly pray and with time received my own confirmation that this is where I needed to be. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I read it and it brought me so much joy and comfort in many times of need. In turn, I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and that he suffered all that he did so that the Book of Mormon could come forth and we could all read it! I love this church with all my heart and I want everyone to feel the happiness that it brings me!

How I live my faith

After I graduated from high school, I was able to be a leader at the girl's camp for our ward over the summer and loved hanging out with the younger girls. Seeing the influence that I could have on youth really helped me strive to be a good example. When I went to college, I was called as a Sunday School teacher and it instilled in me the desire to know the scriptures better! Thanks to that inspired calling, I was motivated even further to serve a mission for the Lord and I am currently sharing the "good news" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Alabama!
