Hi I'm MacKenzie

I am from Oregon. I am the baby sister, cool aunt, and the missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 6 kids. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. They have been a great example to me in so many ways - even though they picked on me a lot because I was the baby! I am an aunt to 11 nieces and nephews. I like to golf, make crafty things, bake, spend time with my family, read children's books, learn fun facts, AND take naps. I have completed two years of college in Idaho, where I am studying to be a teacher. I haven't quite decided what I want to teach, but I'm kind of leaning towards Geography or History. I am taking a break from my college studies to serve a mission. I will be serving the people in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission, which also includes parts of Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas. I am very scared, because I'm very shy by nature, but I am very excited to serve and to bring the gospel to other people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so I've never really known anything but being a Mormon. I had great parents and older siblings who showed me the way and helped me. But, as I grew older I knew I had to decide if I was going to be a Mormon on my own. Did I really believe it and know it was true? Over the past few years I've been able to read, study, pray and ponder the Gospel. I've been able to work on my own understanding of the church and what it means to be a Mormon. I know where I came from, why I'm here on this earth, and where I'll go when I leave this earth. I know the principles and doctrine I've learned will prepare me for eternity, and also help me to navigate my time on earth. I will not be able to avoid trials and tribulations, but I will be able to understand why they need to happen. I will be able to feel the great joy that comes through obedience to the gospel. I am so, so thankful that I am a Mormon. It is everything to me.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving others, which includes my family, friends, people in general. In the past I have served in youth women class presidencies, as a youth and adult class Sunday School teacher, and as an advisor for a group of 12 and 13 year old girls. For me, at the present time, I am going to serve as a missionary! I will devote 18 months of my life to go and do nothing but preach the gospel and serve others. I will try to be the best example of the Savior that I can, because that is best way I can live my faith. Trying my best to be a disciple of Christ and become more like him.
