Hi I'm Nicholas Moffitt

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I strive to follow his example and one day hope to live with him and my Heavenly Father again.

About Me

Right now, I still have most of my life ahead of me. I have just completed my first year of college at BYU. It was great. Over the course of my first year of college I have learned and grown so much. The time I spent away from my family helped me to become more independent and self-reliant. Although I am still unsure of what I want to major in, I am starting to lean towards some sort of political science degree. With three years of college left I figure I still have a little more time to decide. Something I have been focusing on even more than my college experience these last couple months has been preparing to serve a mission. I have received a call to serve the Lord and his people for two years as a full time missionary, and I am more excited about going on my mission than anything I have faced before in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have no overwhelmingly powerful conversion story, but I do have a testimony that I believe to be powerful. I am a Mormon because I believe that this church is Christ's true church on the earth today. I believe that Jesus Christ is my savior and that he is the savior of the entire world. I believe that Jesus and Heavenly Father love each one of us so dearly, and they want the best for us. I believe that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God who was divinely inspired to restore Christ's church to the earth after it was lost for many hundreds of years. I believe that the record he translated, The Book of Mormon, is the true word of God. The priesthood power has been restored to the earth in these latter days, and it can only be found in this church, the true church of God. I believe that through the ordinances Joseph Smith helped to restore we can be saved for time and all eternity. That is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the love that is felt within it. I love looking out at my congregation and feeling the dedication many of them have to living up to Christ's example. The Lord said that pure religion is helping the poor and needy, the fatherless and widows. Throughout my time as a member of Christ's church I have spent countless hours in service of others trying to follow His example. Besides the simple service such as raking leaves, helping people move, painting houses, and pulling weeds, I have been able to participate in much deeper service. I love being a home teacher. Being able to foster close friendships with ward members and always being able to be there fore someone is an amazing feeling that I hope to continue to have throughout my life.
