Hi I'm Katie

I was born and raised in the great state of Idaho! I'm a runner, a sister to 7 siblings, and best of all, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a big time runner! In high school I used to run cross country. As of now I just run for the fun of it, hopefully everyday, but I'm not training for anything. I just finished getting my associates degree at BYU-Idaho. Soon I will be going on a mission to Raleigh, North Carolina. When I get back, the plan is to go to Idaho State University and get into their dietetics program! As for the here and now, I just love everything about outdoors. I'm not a huge tomboy, but I really love outside. :) I love my family! Home is where I really love being. In this tiny town, 30 of my 50 cousins live close by, so we're always getting together to do things. My cousins are my best friends. Best of all, I LOVE traveling! I've been to China, London, Paris, New York, and Canada, and it's not stoppin' there. I want to travel my whole life! I love meeting new people and seeing new cultures. Oh, and of course, GO BOISE STATE!!! I am not a huge football fan in general, but for BSU I am! I used to live in Boise for 8 years. I love everything about Boise. My parents are currently divorced for almost 2 years. No divorce is ever easy, but my dad comes to visit often. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain, right? :)

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing greater than being a Mormon. Truly. It is something that cannot be forced on anybody, everyone has to decide for themselves if they are ready or not. This religion isn't like others. This is not a part of my life, this religion is a way of life. I have witnessed many tragedies in life, and I have personally seen much of the wickedness that exists on this earth. The only thing that makes things okay is having this gospel. God is a part of everything we do. This church is all about finding your personal relationship with our Father in Heaven. There is so much that we have to learn on this earth, and the only church that explains all of it with proof to back it up is this church; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The best part is that I don't have to have someone telling me what I need to do or not do. I pray, I ask God, and He responds to me through the Holy Ghost. I can learn and be taught directly from God. I may never see Him while I live on this earth, but He is real. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. Christ suffered for me and all my sins so that I could be here and still have the privilege of returning to live with Him. People complain that there are too many rules to being Mormon. However, I believe that it is hard because God loves us that much. This is the only way to return to Him. Those who can put off their worldly self, and do as God asks, those are the ones that will return to Him. I want to be one of those people. God wants to see who will be faithful enough to return back to Him. If it's easy then everyone would return. It has to be hard, then He can tell who truly loves Him enough to do what it takes to return. I will make mistakes my whole life, but that's the great thing: I can always repent and come right back. I want to be the best Katie!

How I live my faith

All of my growing up years, I did my best to participate in all the church activities. I loved going to girls camp and going to mutual. Not all of the time, because as teenagers always are, I didn't want to be told what to do. However, after I went to college and was out on my own I grew to LOVE this church. :) I had a few responsibilities in my college wards. I was a visiting teacher to other girls in my ward, I had a few teaching callings, I had to plan and organize activities for my group on Monday nights. My favorite thing is talking religion with those who are not already of my faith. I like to see their views on things verses the way our church views things. I love helping explain things that others don't understand, or that their religion doesn't ever cover.
