Hi I'm Dustin Swanson

I love experiencing life, watercolor and drawing, video games, hiking and anything outdoors, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Well I am a huge believer in being yourself. God has given each of us our own unique gifts, talents, and personalities so we need to be it! The way that I express myself is in my drawings. I draw anime style with a lot of what I do but I do like to spread out my abilities and do more realism and illustration type stuff as well. I also watercolor! I one day want to travel all over the world and get to know the cultures of other people. maybe even have my job be involved in traveling? Since we are all Gods children, I believe that we should treat each other that way. And getting to know how other people live their lives is apart of respecting and loving them! I also enjoy being outdoors. I grew up in the wilds of West Yellowstone MT, which is the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park WY. My family and I are huge ski bums and we also enjoy the sun and surf of southern California. So put me anywhere outside and I will love it. Thats probably one of the biggest reasons why I love Utah, we have some of the best hiking areas in the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I think it all comes down to it "feeling right". I believe that if you earnestly ask and pray to God he will give you the answers you need. I've grown up Mormon but I have also grown up with other religious backgrounds. My dad grew up Presbyterian, so that whole side of my family as you could guess are not LDS. Thanks to that I've been able to realize that we are no different from anyone else. We all still believe is Christ and we are all trying to do what we need to get back to him. I know that the Book Of Mormon is a true book from God and that it testifies of him. Just as the Bible does. Reading it and understanding the words in there and praying to our Heavenly Father to ask if this book is true and receiving that feeling of it being true is how I know that all of what I'm doing here right now is not if vain.

How I live my faith

Well I try to stay pretty active in my ward. I've passed the sacrament, prepared the sacrament, and have also blessed the sacrament. It's a pretty neat opportunity to be able to participate in such a sacred ordinance. I've done a lot of service work for my community and gotta say it can be pretty fun.
