Hi I'm Lauren Simpson

I'm a Mormon and proud of it! It's my life and I wouldn't be me without it!

About Me

I am a college student receiving a BIS (Bachelor's of Integrated Studies) in English, Communication, and Theatre in December 2013. I love to have fun with the people in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a Mormon because everything about the gospel makes sense. Any question I have ever had has been answered through the gospel and confirmed within me. I feel very blessed to have had the Church in my life forever, but I had to chose to follow the teachings of my Savior and it was the best decision I have ever made. I feel happier and more myself when I follow the Lord and His teachings. I don't know where I would be without the gospel.

How I live my faith

I do my best to be an active participant in my ward. I currently work with the young women and love it! They are so inspirational and I believe that I'm learning more from them than they are from me. I feel very blessed to be were I am right now.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Lauren Simpson
God is a perfected being. He is the Father of our spirits. His love is perfect. He wants us to return home to Him because we are that important. Heavenly Father will provide every way, including sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to Earth to suffer for our sins and shortcomings and provide a way to come home. God, the Father, and Jesus Christ are two separate beings of flesh and bones. The Holy Ghost is also a separate being, but is a Spirit. They are one in purpose: "to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39). Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Lauren Simpson
We believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe that the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price are scripture as well. I think of it this way: additional scriptures are like an extra present. The present of the Bible was good and we are excited about it, but that doesn't mean that we aren't excited about the other presents we receive. These other presents don't take away from the first gift, but add to it. All the doctrines in the Bible are complimented in other scriptures, and vice versa. They are all important to me in my life and I love to study their words and gain a better understanding of the gospel. Show more Show less
