Hi I'm Kyle

I grew up in Utah. I work hard in school, run, and play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a high school student, and have made my education a high priority with a challenging schedule. I also play the piano--my favorite kind of music is classical. I enjoy learning new things and solving problems. While my academic record might fit that of the stereotypical nerd, I enjoy spending time with friends and seek to improve my social skills.

Why I am a Mormon

Just because I grew up in the church doesn't mean I didn't need to be converted. It has been long and gradual process to where I am now, but when I was 14 I really started to realize that if what I had been taught was true I needed to make changes to my life. Thus shifting my focus, I started to feel better and better about my choices. Simply put, I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I know this church is true because of the way it makes me feel--God gives us that warm, fuzzy, happy feeling to help us know the truth. This church just feels right in a powerful and convincing way, and the more I learn and live its teachings, the more right they feel. I know, because I have felt it for myself, that this church has the truth. And that truth is wonderful! We have a Heavenly Father who loves us infinitely, and all He wants for us is to become like Him--perfect and absolutely happy. He has given us this church to teach and help us follow His eternal plan for us. Everyone can choose to strive for the joy our God wants us to have.

How I live my faith

I am the president of a local mission preparation class that meets weekly. I am now striving to do what I can to make our classes more beneficial for the youth that attend. In my personal life I try to maintain and improve my faith through scripture study and prayer. I look for ways I can be better, and honestly seek to serve those around me as best as I can.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

While we may not be able to see exactly how men and women are equal in their different roles, we do not need to. I have faith that God is absolutely fair. How could He not be? I also have faith that the prophets of this church are inspired, and speak the voice of the Lord. If you put those things together, it is the will of the Lord that women do not have the priesthood, but that's okay because we know that doesn't make them underprivileged. Show more Show less
