Hi I'm Alec Hammond

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a BYU student currently serving as a missionary in Mexico City. I love to swim and love the beach. I am studying electrical engineering and plan on attending graduate school after I receive my undergraduate degree. I hope to one day teach in a university setting. Teaching is my passion.

Why I am a Mormon

I, like many high school students, grew up in a community where drugs were ubiquitous. I tutored kids on the side, and many of them tried to pay me in drugs because it was all they had. I decided early in life that I needed to make choices that would keep me happy in the future, unlike the kids I tried to help. Fortunately, my parents raised me in the LDS church, and I grew up knowing that drugs were bad. However they taught me more fundamental principles too, like the importance of integrity and service. These church ideals help me prepare for a family of my own one day. I feel my one true source of happiness will come from my family. To think that such an beautiful aspect of life will disappear when I die devastates me. But as a Mormon, I know that I can live with my family even after this life. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in Mexico City. As a missionary, I invite others to come unto Christ and accept the restored gospel.
