Hi I'm Morgan

I grew up on a small asparagus farm in Utah. I'm a happy wife, a Yupik-learner, and a follower of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mormon! I have a passion for learning, writing, playing guitar, singing, serving, talking, laughing, and living. I grew up on an asparagus farm in a small town with five siblings, all of which are sisters (bless my dad's heart). I am also the proud aunt of two with one on the way (and loving every second of it). I just moved with my new husband to a little village in Alaska. We are loving our time here learning the culture and serving the Yupik people. He is currently teaching 7th and 8th grade science and math. I am substituting at the school and completing my education online. We love running the streets with our cross-country teams, cooking up moose and salmon, and practicing our Yupik. And we love getting to share our culture of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up a member of the church, it was not until I was about a sophomore in high school that I truly began to search the scriptures and seek a testimony of my own. High school was certainly a challenge for me (as it is for many), and for the first two years, I spent much time searching for meaning in my life and for who I was. My prayers were answered as I turned to the gospel. Like gradually filling a cup of water, the knowledge of its truth came and continues to come one drop at a time as I study the scriptures, kneel down in prayer, serve those around me, and keep other commandments of the Lord. Through obedience and sincere prayer, I have learned some truths for myself, and though I am still young and my knowledge is not yet perfect, I do know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ’s true Church, fully restored to the earth. Jesus Christ is my best friend, and He knows each of us by name. I know that striving daily to live His gospel has blessed me with His Spirit and has brought more peace to my life than anything in this world. I am not perfect, but I know that through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I can be forgiven of my mistakes. This gospel is my life! And I know that it leads to eternal life, life in the presence of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Of these things I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, amen.

How I live my faith

I truly believe that when we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are in the service of our God (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 2:17). I love serving and assisting God’s children daily as I try to follow Christ’s example of service. Whether it’s traveling with a companion to a sister’s home to share a gospel message and offer service or taking cookies to the lonely or afflicted, whether it’s helping my little sister with homework or simply visiting a lonely neighbor, service is a staple in my life; it’s one of my greatest sources of joy, as it surely was to Christ Himself. Essentially, I live to serve! And I serve to live.
