Hi I'm Wilson Martin

I'm a former military officer, retired State Historic Preservation Officer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've spent a lifetime teaching and/or assisting in the founding of traditional building skills schools - from stained glass to architectural wood carving. I'm a grandfather and husband to one of the great women of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Through the Gospel I've discovered that Christ died for all of us and provided a means of salvation for all mankind - members of my faith and non members alike. His love for each of us and His depth of forgiveness, through the atonement, continue to calm my soul. Christ's love for all mankind - the good, the bad, and the ugly - continues to remind me of my need to try to love everyone, in spite of my weaknesses.

How I live my faith

I participate in many community boards, largely dealing with history or historic preservation. I have served in my church in capacities ranging from administrative to local congregation leader. I worked as a missionary in Northern England, where I learned to love old buildings and where I received my graduate degrees.
