Hi I'm Maren

I'm a dancer, a linguistic enthusiast, a lover of knowledge, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the middle child in a family of seven. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is my top priority and goal in life. I love Ballroom Dancing passionately and have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge in all areas, especially language. I am currently enrolled in Georgia Military College and I am studying for a degree in History. American Sign Language became my second language about three years ago, and has blessed me and those I've been able to communicate with because of it. God created all people and they are all individually important, which is just one reason why cultures and languages interest me so greatly. I am always trying to improve myself. I say, "Anything I can do, I can do better."

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are members of the church and I have been a member my entire life, but still my parents invited me to obtain a testimony of my own, and I have. I have read the Book of Mormon and did what is says to do toward the end of the book, in Moroni 10: 3-5, prayed about whether or not it was true. The Spirit has confirmed this and many other truths to me. I never feel as comfortable as I do when I am following the commandments. I find it wonderful that many people all over the world ask the questions, "Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going?" and I, from my youth, know the answers. Millions around the world do. it is so comforting to know that God is merciful, loving, and he has a plan for us. We have prophets today, just like people in the past did. God has not forgotten us. The Gospel of Christ can fill your heart and change your life unlike anything else. It is the truth, the answer to life. I know because I have felt it and seen it and experienced it.

How I live my faith

I try to live the way God wants me to live. God is our Heavenly Father, and just like any good father, He wants the best for His children. I know what He would have me do by reading and heeding the words of the prophets, ancient and modern, because they share the message He wants us to have. As a dancer, I try to keep my dancing appropriate and respect my body and those around me in the way I dance, and in my everyday manner. I avoid foul language. I read the scriptures every day and find comfort and happiness in them. I follow the guidelines for living set in the pamphlet "For the Strength of Youth" which is inspired. When I keep these standards I am blessed and feel happy.
