Hi I'm Brian LAW

I am a Hong Kong LDS!

About Me

I have graduated from University and studied Physics. I'd like to learn new languages, and I enjoy myself when I am listening to music of all kinds. I am currently serving my full-time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert. My parents were LDS, but I am not interested in church when I was a kid. I just spend every Sundays with my interest groups and books. Still, the concept of God is in my head. After my public exams, I chose to go back to church at the age of 16. This is due to my experience in my Maths exam. I am good at Maths, and I am very confident that I have no problems with the exam. Unfortunately, such arrogance made me misunderstood some words on the paper and made me having a Waterloo. That is a Monday and the next five days I still had my exams. Such depression would be disastrous to the rest of the week. An inspiration came when I was revising my Chinese passages. A sentence touched me so much that it told me "No need to worry. Learn from your errors. You have not walked away so much, and you can correct your future." The depression had gone and I continued with my studies. I knew that this came from God, since I had read that phrases many times when I revised in previous years without a great feeling and it just came into my head, "It is just the author's experience. I just need to memorize the passage." I didn't wait my result to release and baptized. Finally it turned out that my Maths result was still an excellence and the others were not ruined as well. As I read the Book of Mormon, I knew more about the Plan of Salvation and the importance of Atonement of Jesus Christ. Together with the Holy Bible, they serve as testimonies that Jesus Christ is living and helping us at all times when we needed Him. I testify that the church and its scriptures are true, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live to serve the others with the gifts I have received from God. I am somehow good at learning, and I like digging to the bottom for every question. This is how my knowledge expands and allows me to teach others in details. For example, I was a trainer at my working place and I used to be a private tutor as well. In church, I was trained up in the Stake presidency as a secretary. My computer skills allow me to help people to set up things and organizes various meetings, and also help the presidency. I previously helped in an children organization. I was a tutor to non-wealthy children. Together with the ward, we have organized a carnival for them on a Saturday afternoon which everyone has a great time.
