Hi I'm Sizah Hlengwa

I grew up in Durban, and oh yes I love being a Mormon

About Me

I am a sister, aunt and a friend. I grew up in Durban. I have studied Medical Science (Human Anatomy and Physiology). I love learning about Human body. I love learning about knew things in life, I just don't get tired of learning. That positive mentality has help me to want to know more about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and has led me to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love making friends with people, and share my talents. I love music (singing), dancing (ballroom), studying, and to have fun (to explore). I really love being a Mormon it has blessed my life so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I always share with people that the gospel came into my life when I needed it most, it came at the right time. When I met the missionaries, I was a very active member of my former church, which I loved very much, especially the music part of it, I guess that's because I love music. But anyway, there has been lot of concerns on my side though, lots of questions that remained unanswered. There were so many commandments that were not observed in my former church and yet we would read the same bible that tells to keep such. There were lot of contentions. It really concerns me how they view God. But personally though, I questions that I needed to be answered. I wanted to know if I had any purpose here on earth. For some reason, without any doubt I knew that God exist, but I wanted to know if He loves all of His children, and if he loved me. I wanted to know why did some have better lives than others if God really loved all of His children equally. And many other concerns did I have, but these were the main ones. When the missionaries shared with me their message, everything was so clear, it just made so much sense to me, and I knew with no doubt it was true. As I made my own effort to continue to study and pray about the messages that have been shared with me, I felt so much joy inside my heart, and I knew by the power of the spirit it was true. I did not waist any time, after we have finished the discussions with the missionaries, I was baptised. Ever since that day, my life changed. I have received guidance as to how I should live my life in order to be worthy of Heavenly father's blessings. As I have strived hard to keep the commandments of the Lord I have been blessed with both spiritual and physical/temporal blessing. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I love the programs we have in the church, ever since I been a member of the church, I've had an opportunity to serve in different callings. This opportunity has helped strengthened my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Because of my choice to become a member of the church, I had two of my siblings being baptized after me. And because of my effort to serve in the church, many lives have been blessed. I have served as a branch nursery assistant, primary teacher, librarian, Relief Society secretary, one of the counsellors in Relief society, branch Family History consultant and as branch music director. I loved serving in the church, more especially because of the change it brought in people's lives, and the joy it brought to me as I served. I know that the church of Jesus Christ is the Lord's church, and that this is the work of the Lord.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Sizah Hlengwa
Yes I do believe. Our Heavenly Father shows us (His children) that He loves us, by calling a prophet who lives in our time, to guide us and direct us in our preparation to meet with him someday. He reveals His Truths through him for us, as to what do we need to do when, and for what. And I have testimony that As we follow our prophet's counsels, the Lord blesses us with the blessings beyond measure. I know that the Lord will never lead us astray through His prophet, and Our living Prophet today is President Thomas S Monson. Show more Show less
