Hi I'm Crystal

I love to take photographs, travel, and try new foods. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a second year college student, but I'm currently taking time off to serve a mission. In high school I was in band for all four years and served as a Drum Major for my last two years, which I loved! I have now taken up photography and I've recently learned that my great-grandfather's hobby was also photography, so I guess I come by it naturally. My parents instilled in me a love of travel from a young age, and being a child of Dominican and American heritage has helped me appreciate my own multi-cultural background as well as others. I love food, music and life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are members, and the church has played a major part of my life. Though I grew up in the church, my parents encouraged me to gain my own testimony and knowledge of Jesus Christ and restoration of His church on earth today. I have found for myself that I experience peace and happiness only when I am consistently obedient to the Lord's commandments, and follow the teachings of Christ. The Book of Mormon has also been a source of comfort for me throughout my life. One of my favorite scriptures from the Book of Mormon is from 2nd Nephi, Chapter 33, verse 10: "And now, my beloved brethren, and also Jew, and all ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good." As I have tested and tried the teachings found in The Book of Mormon and from our church I have found that they do indeed bring good into my life. I am brought closer to Christ and I feel His love for me and for all those around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping a habit of daily scripture studying and praying, though I am not always perfect at it. At college I have helped with the missionary efforts in my area, as well as planned weekly activities for the young single adults of our church. For the next year and a half I will be serving a mission and inviting people to come unto Christ, to learn of Him, and enjoy the blessings that come from following Christ.
