Hi I'm David

I'm from Bristol, England and I'm a musician, a school teacher, a father of four and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love teaching music! I have been a school music teacher for over 15 years and also love teaching the piano. I am married and have four beautiful children that keep us very busy.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess I 'started' being a Mormon because my parents, were - as were their parents, and their parents too! I stayed being a Mormon simply because I believe it is true, and who can reject the truth? Either mankind is an accident and has no future beyond death (doesn't sound too appealing) or God is real and life goes on into the eternities! All of us would prefer the latter but wishing it true doesn't make it so. That is where prophets make a difference to me. My faith and testimony is based on a belief that modern prophets guide us today, just as Moses and other ancient prophets guided past generations. I simply believe that God talks to us today. If he has ever done so in the past, he can do so now. All faith, however, is tested, and mine was when my mother was taken from us all too early. Would I really see her again? Peace quickly came to my heart and I felt that I surely would. The perspective I have, that this life is but a fleeting part of a much longer existence, changes and improves how I treat all around me. Despite being a member all my life the simplicity and wisdom of Christ's teachings in this church still astound me to this day. Having the knowledge I have of my life before birth, my life after death, and the happiness I can attain by living with my family for eternity overwhelms any despondency that normal life brings. Life should and can be fun. Every good thing we can do, learn and be will follow us into the next life. Let's make today a good life!

How I live my faith

I love the gospel as it improves my life every day of the week. I have played the piano and organ for church congregations all my life (well, since I was 8) and love listening to new church members explain how the church improves their lives. I served a two year mission when I was younger in and around Manchester and Liverpool and witnessed many experiences that made me realise how important it is to have stability and truth in your life. I believe the gospel strengthens individuals and their families, and therefore society - and boy, doesn't society need strengthening!
