Hi I'm Bryson Dabney

I am from Cumming, GA. I am, currently, a student at Brigham Young University studying Biology with plans to go to Medical School.

About Me

I am someone who loves the outdoors doing anything from hiking, to swimming, to running, kayaking, skiing, etc, the list goes on. I played one year of Division II college tennis at a university in Kansas. Before I came to this university, I was playing in many regional and national tennis tournaments across the Midwest. I have run in half marathons and I have run in one Ultramarathon. It was a 51.5 mile race and it was a amazing experience. It is one of the coolest things I have ever done. In addition, to the outdoor activities, I love basketball, tennis, golf, soccer, frisbee golf, and many others. I am an Eagle scout. I am very passionate about medicine and love learning about the anatomy and physiology of the human body. I am majoring in Biology and I hope to be able to go to Medical School. Most of all, I love hanging out with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints? I am a member of this church because of the Book of Mormon. This is another testament of Jesus Christ that goes hand and hand with the Holy Bible. This book is truly our map to return to the presence of our loving Father in Heaven. I know that it is true! It is the most powerful book that I have ever read. It is a literal map that will place us on the pathway to everlasting happiness. In addition, I know that the priesthood is true and that it is real. Heavenly Father has bestowed this gift to man here on the earth to act in His name for the blessing and benefit of His children. I have seen the blessing of the Priesthood in my life. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he did translate the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God. I also know that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings. This church is the only true and living church on the Earth today. It is, literally, the Church of Jesus Christ. He has established this church to provide us with the help that we need to make it through this mortal journey and to one day return to live with Him. Missionary work is great! It truly is the work of Salvation. I know that nothing can stop this work from moving on and reaching the ears of everyone on this Earth. Families are the most wonderful thing that we are blessed with in this Earthly life and I love my family with all of my heart. I am a Mormon because it is the only place that teaches the pure doctrines and principles that were taught by Christ himself many, many years ago here on the earth. I know that the Plan of Salvation is real. If we will keep the commandments, diligently follow the living prophet, and endure through the challenges that we are faced with each and everyday by constantly looking to the Savior, we will be able to return to our loving Heavenly Father and live with Him and our families forever in the Celestial Kingdom.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example in word and deed. Each month, I enjoy the opportunity that I have to do home teaching visits to other members in my ward. I always go with a partner and we will share a spiritual message with them and offer our help to them in any way that we can. In my ward, I have the privilege to constantly serve others and look for opportunities that I can help make someone's day better. Service plays a major role in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ dedicated his life and lost his life in the service of others. I have shown my love that I have for the Savior by dedicating two years of my life to help the wonderful people of Brazil come closer to Him. I left my family for this period of time in order to help these people discover the truths and joys of this everlasting gospel and help them make promises, or covenants, with God that will allow them to one day return to the presence of our Heavenly Father and to live together as a family for all eternity. There is no greater joy!!
