Hi I'm Dean Davis

I live in Alaska, I like to play guitar and draw. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Because I live in Alaska I love to go salmon fishing, there are few things more fun than that. I love to work hard in school and at work. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and it's my favorite pass time when I have nothing to do. I have also been playing guitar since I was a sophomore in high school and I've gotten pretty good at it.

Why I am a Mormon

I may have have been born into the Mormon faith but that doesn't change the fact that I have come to know for my self that this church is true. It has been such a blessing to me and to my family. There is no other explanation for how the LDS church came about. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I know that Joseph Smith was and still is a prophet of God. I also know that Thomas S. Monson is God's chosen prophet on the earth today and that the truth will always been on this earth. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was born into the LDS church and I have strong member my whole life because I have always had a strong family to support me. I have always enjoyed going to church and learning about the gospel. When I was thirteen years old I was called by my bishop to act as a leader for our church's 12-13 year old group. It was one of the most humbling experiences I have eve had, it taught me how to work with other people. Since then I have had the experience to act as a Senior Patrol Leader for two Boy Scout Troops and earn my Eagle Scout. When I was fifteen years old I had the opportunity to teach with other families in our congregation who were struggling with he gospel of Jesus Christ. Through those following years I have seen how Jesus touches the lives of others. I love this Church more than I can say and I don't know where I would be without it.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Dean Davis
There is a lot of confusion about just what goes on inside the temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the LDS church or the Mormon Church). Temples are Sacred and Holy places where members of the LDS church go to perform proxy baptisms for those who died without a knowledge of Jesus Christ and his gospel. Members of the LDS church also go to the temple to make sacred covenants with God and to get married. Our church believes that marriage does not have to end when people die. We believe that if a man and woman or a family is married inside the temple we can not only be married on earth but also in Heaven as a family for time and all eternity. I know that i am very grateful to our Heavenly Father for providing a way for us to live together as families for time and all eternity. It is such a comfort to know that when i die i will still know who I am and that I will still be able to live and love with my family forever Show more Show less
