Hi I'm Tim

I grew up in Idaho. I love hiking, biking, ballroom dancing, singing, and learning. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I just graduated from high school, and am now on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been assigned to serve in the Warsaw Poland mission! After my mission I will be going to BYU Provo where I will study computer engineering. My hobbies include hiking, biking, ballroom dancing, singing, playing the piano, and more. I enjoy being out in nature and especially taking pictures of beautiful scenery. I love good music that helps me feel the Spirit and that touches me, lifts me up, and motivates me to do better. I especially love playing the hymns.

Why I am a Mormon

I always thought that I knew this church was true. When I was about 12 years old I decided to really read the Book of Mormon on my own and ask God if it was true. After reading one day I knelt down and prayed with a sincere heart really wanting to know if the church was true and especially whether the Book of Mormon was true. I got a peaceful feeling and continued to read. As I was pondering over what I had read, I got my answer. I felt a good feeling throughout my body and a thought came to me and said: Tim, you know that the Book of Mormon is true. That was all that it took. As I have gone through high school and seminary I have had many occasions where the Spirit has testified to me of the truthfulness of a gospel doctrine through a good feeling. I've never had a doubt. I know that this gospel is true with all my heart. I can not imagine life without it. Through the restored gospel I find comfort when I am going through trials, and I know that the Savior loves me. I know that Christ has made it possible for us to follow him and receive eternal life. I know that the gospel can change lives for the better. I know that faith comes through patience and willingness to submit ourselves to our Father's will. I know that everyone will have the opportunity to inherit the Kingdom of God. I am grateful for the effects of the Atonement on my life. Everyone makes mistakes, but Christ provides a way for each of us to be clean. I love this gospel so very very much!

How I live my faith

I enjoy coming to church and learning more each Sunday about Christ. I have grown much closer to Him as I have tried to live like he would. Something that one of the leaders of the Church said has really changed me: he said that in order to live more like Christ that we need to observe what he did. When Christ was on this Earth he was a truly selfless man. Even though he was rejected by the world, he still looked for ways to help others. As I have tried to live a more Christ centered life and become less selfish I've noticed that my days have become so much better and that I truly have the capability of making a difference in this world: One life at a time. I have learned that happiness comes through serving others by even just giving them a smile and saying hi, or asking someone how they are doing and really meaning it, sitting down and really getting to know them so that you can help them. Everyone has a need for someone to love them. Christ loved everyone and I have tried to follow that example. Right now I am following that example by serving a mission in Poland to help others know of the true gospel of Jesus Christ! I realize that I need His help in everything I do. I realize now more than ever that in order to be truly converted we need to repent daily and strive to become better people. We need to develop Christ-like attributes such as Patience, Diligence, Love, Charity, and Virtue. We need to act in the way he would act, and do what he would want us to do.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Christ loves each one of us personally, he wants what is best for us. In the Bible Christ told John: "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." (John 10:16). Christ is referring in this verse to his faithful followers in ancient America. After his resurrection he visited the people in the Americas and healed them, taught them, and organized His Church on the American Continent. He tells them: "And verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said: Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." (3 Nephi 15:21). I know that Christ loves each of us personally and wants us to receive the truthfulness of the gospel while on this Earth so that we can have a happy and fulfilling life, and so we can return to our heavenly home.
