Hi I'm Lissann

I was born and raised in Utah. I'm a singer, a reader, and a return missionary from West Virginia. I love owls! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I am a sociology student, hoping to advance to a career where I can help change the world for the better. I am a return missionary for the church and I served in the hills and hollars of the West Virginia Charleston Mission. I love to read, especially fantasy novels and church literature. I am always wanting to learn, grow and be inspired in all areas of life and therefore I am willing to try new things. I love babies and owls. Total sucker for all things cute. Singing and music are a wonderful talent that I have been given and that I love to share with those around me. I love being with family and friends, goofing around and just having fun. I also love to index, to help transcribe records so that they can be used by others who are involved in family history.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into the faith and therefore baptized at the age of 8. But that isn't the only reason. When I was a little older, I decided to take Moroni's challenge in the end of the Book of Mormon and put it to the test. I pondered about those things that I had been taught all my life. Then I turned to our Heavenly Father in prayer, sincerely asking Him if this church was His true church. I received a witness to my prayers that day that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God on the Earth today. It is a witness that I can't deny. I love this gospel more than words can ever express and it has been one of the greatest blessings in my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving the Lord by being an example of the gospel in my daily life. Where I'm at in Utah, many people aren't LDS and often have misconceptions about the church. I try to simply do as the Savior has asked us to do and emulate Him in all I can do. I served as a missionary out in the corner of The Lord's vineyard that He has asked me to serve in, otherwise known as the WVCM. I spent all day, every day helping to bring others the word of the Savior and helping strengthen those who already live the gospel, including myself. This was such a blessing in my life as I watched my faith in Christ grow through performing service for others and experienced the joy of helping others find something in themselves they often had no idea was there.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Lissann
I know that throughout time, there have been prophets on the earth to help the people living here come to know what Heavenly Father would have them do so that they can come back into His presence. So it makes sense that it would be the same today as people are still trying to do what God would have them do in their lives so that they can gain eternal happiness with Him again. I know that our current prophet has been set apart by God to lead His church here on the earth today so we can have help as we are trying to gain eternal happiness with Him again someday.
