Hi I'm Mitchell Pope

I'm a music-lover, a language-lover, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, and hope to continue my studies in Western European languages. I am in love with music, and I can't help but pick up and play anything that can create a tune. I can now count about 20 different instruments. The opportunity to play and write music is one of the most wonderful blessings that I am priveledged to possess. I just finished serving a two-year mission in the Alpine German-speaking Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a servant of the Lord and a man charged with spreading His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a family strongly embedded in Mormon culture, and had a very difficult time realizing why the Church was so important to my many family members and friends. Leaving to college helped me immensely. After graduating from high school, I felt the freedom to be myself. Living in a dorm, I became entirely responsible for myself. When I chose, with my own agency, to attend church meetings and study scripture and pray, I realized a Spirit of Christ lifting me up in all that I do. Being left to make my own decisions gave me the power to recognize the blessings in choosing the right. I know that this gospel is the correct and true word of God.

How I live my faith

I attend an instructional class designed for young, single adults. This Institute class brightens my every week. I also strive to read and study the many words of the Prophets daily. The Bible, Book of Mormon, and particularly modern revelation keep me in high spirits and edify me daily. I relish in opportunity to serve others. Tutoring programs and physical labor are my favorite ways to serve. I love seeing the progress of mental and physical efforts toward self-improvement.
