Hi I'm Johannes "Jay" Wendt

Love games, chilling with friends, and (surprise surprise) IM A MORMON!! :O

About Me

YO what's up. Names Johannes, or as everyone else calls me, Jay. Or J. Both work fine. I love reading, music (listening to it), hanging out with friends, games of all kinds, and I (you guessed it) love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

As a kid, i grew up in this church and thought that this was just the norm for everyone. Only later did i realize that, hey, this is kinda unique, being a mormon. People began asking me questions like, what do mormons do, or the ever popular, how many moms you got? -_-' I guess i never really thought that being a mormon was all that special, and saw it as just another part of my life. That thought changed SUPER quick as I decided for myself that I have to grow up sometime, and found out for myself if what i professed to believe is true. I started with reading the Book of Mormon, then prayer, and just trying to get myself closer to what I felt was right. As I kept moving, time and time again struggles sprang up to try and push me back, but I couldn't be stopped. soon, I began to feel God's love for me as a person, and that prayer isn't just praying out towards a wall in space. God hears all our prayers. It's just that we never understand his replies. I learned that whenever something amazing like a lucky mishap, or some kind of great feeling i get from listening to a good song, is the spirit of God, the Holy Ghost, telling me that He does listen, and is looking out for me. I feel blessed to have this... well... blessing (for lack of a better word): that i have a set of parents here on this earth who care for me and will always love and look out for my well being, and that i have a Heavenly Father, who watches out for me and has love unfailing.

How I live my faith

While I was back home in California, I'd regularly participate in our ward through working with our youth as an advisor, participate in service projects like planting trees, or even just singing with the congregation. I'll admit, I wasn't one of the best readers of scriptures as I should've been as a kid, but as I grew up, I saw the importance of having these teachings of past prophets, legacies of ancient people, right here in the palm of my hand. Reading began with intense fervor, and I learned alot about who God is, what He does, has done, and continues to do for us His children. Prayer has now become a daily thing, if not nearly hourly. And now I try to live more accordingly to the teachings of our Savior, and help others to come closer to Him.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Johannes "Jay" Wendt
Indeed it is anonymous friend. If the Lord our Father in Heaven loves all of his children here upon the earth, then why would He only focus upon those in the Holy Land? The Book of Mormon changes that. It shows us that Christ, after His resurrection and ascent into Heaven, revealed Himself to the people here in the Americas. Here, just like in Jerusalem, He taught the people, blessed and healed them all, and called forth 12 disciples to watch over the church here. Show more Show less
