Hi I'm Dawn
I'm a wife and mum of four and work at a local College. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I have four children, two daughters & two sons, ages 14-22. My oldest son is currently serving a mission in the south of England and my eldest daughter is preparing to serve in Madrid, Spain from June 2013. I feel very blessed that they have chosen to follow what we and the church has taught them and they want our Saviour's teachings in their lives. I enjoy many kinds of crafting including knitting, cross stitch, crochet and card-making. I love going to the theatre, cinema and concerts with my family and friends. I work in the Reprographics department at the local sixth form college and enjoy serving and working with the staff and students there. I met my husband, Gerry, while in the Missionary Training Centre, becoming good friends before deciding to marry in December 1989. We spent 5 years living in his hometown in Dublin, Ireland - where our eldest three children were born. We moved back to Stoke-on-Trent in August 1994.
Why I am a Mormon
I love the knowledge the church gives me of the plan Heavenly Father has for my life. I know where I came from, why I am here and what happens when we leave mortality. It does not have to be feared. And even though it is still sad to lose loved ones in this life, I know that I will see them again when I follow.
How I live my faith
I have grown up as a member of the church and love learning and teaching my family and others about the gospel and sharing my faith in Jesus Christ. I have served in many areas in the church teaching children, youth and adults and conducting music in church services. As young adult I served as a missionary for the church in the north of England - Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Leeds, Bradford and Scarborough. I love to use my craft talents to make gifts for others and love to see the smiles on their faces when they receive them.
