Hi I'm Matthew

I'm a husband, father of four, a teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of four children and have been married since 1996. We have lived our married life between Wales and Mexico. For most of my adult life I have been teaching. I have taught Spanish for the last 8 years though for me, the subject is not so important. The important thing is for the students to learn how to be better prepared in terms of self-motivation, self-discipline, responsibility, and self-confidence. I took Spanish classes in school but I really learnt Spanish as a missionary in Andalucía, Spain. I enjoy playing basketball, walking, and going on adventures. I like music and especially singing harmonies.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church I belong to brings me safety, security, and peace. Through the mission of Jesus Christ we can be forgiven of our sins and this has brought me peace of conscience and peace of mind. I know that He lives and loves me. Mormons are called Mormons because as well as the Bible, we also believe in the Book of Mormon. I love this book because as I read it and try to implement its principles it brings me closer to God and fills me with love and light. Being a Mormon has also helped me learn what is most important in life. Many people talk about families being important but one thing is to talk and another to learn why and how. The Church gives wonderful guidance on how to truly have a family that can last forever. I know the Church teaches true principles and I have seen the influence of these principles in my life and in the life of hundreds of other people. It is very clear that when we live these principles, we are happier, and when we do not, life gets harder and begins to lack meaning. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches true principles that lead to true joy and happiness.

How I live my faith

I love going to Church every week, and I feel close to God. This helps me feel closer to Him and my Saviour Jesus Christ during the week. I try and live my faith by helping others as much as I can. I strive to be the same person inside and outside the home. We pray every day as a family; we teach our children the principles of the gospel; and we help in the Church as much as we can.
