Hi I'm Abby Stewart

and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I was born in Utah, I have been blessed to have lived in Europe (Germany and Italy) since I was 8. I love to travel, experience new things, try new foods and be immersed in interesting and exciting cultures. I have spent the last two years studying at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I love to learn and value education highly. I am preparing to serve an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tucson, Arizona and am excited to go and share what I know with the people in that area. I also highly value my relationships with others. I love making new friends and know that family is everything. Without the influence of others I would not be who I am today - and for that I am forever grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know it's true! I have read that Book of Mormon and completed Moroni's challenge in Moroni chapter 10 - I prayed to know if the book is true and I felt Spirit confirm it to me. And because I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know Joseph Smith was a true and inspired prophet. I am Mormon because when I live my life in accordance to the standards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I feel peace and happiness. Life is hard and we each are required to endure many trials, but because of the testimony I have and my faith, I know we are never alone. We have neighbors, family, friends, and most of all our Savior, Jesus Christ, to build us up, help us endure our trials, and learn the lessons we need from the trials. I know that Christ lives! I know He is my brother and that I am a child of God - as are you! I know we have the restored gospel - the only living church that has all of the truth - on this earth today! I am blessed to be a part of it and know of truthfulness.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church and in an area where there are not a lot Mormons, I have had the opportunity to serve in many different and challenging ways. When I was only 12 years old I was asked to play the piano in our meetings. Understandably, this was very scary and intimidating for me. But through a lot of practice and trust in my Heavenly Father, I learned to play the songs. I have also learned to play the organ since then and enjoy developing new talents. I have also been a leader to my peers (in and outside of church) as I live the principles ad standards I have set for myself. I try to be a good example to those I am around and to act as I know I should. I have recently decided to serve a mission for my church. While I am on this 18 month mission, I will be serving members of my church as well as those that are non-members. I will also be spending time with people that want to learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as I help them understand the things I know to be true and why I live the way I do. I am excited to teach about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel!
