Hi I'm Gretchen

I grew up in Georgia. I am a coach for the special olympics, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Georgia. In high school I was very involved. I participated in cross country, step team, leadership teams, and volunteering clubs. I am currently a teacher's assisitant at a school in Utah for moderately to severely disabled kids. I love my job and through it I became involved in coaching for the special olympics. I plan to get a degree in special education. I am very independent and ambitious. I love to travel and to experience new cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have come to know for myself that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up trusting what my parents had taught me. However, relying on the testimony of my parents was not enough. There was a time in my life where I came to a fork in the road and had to decide for myself to either follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and walk in the light, or to follow the ways of the world and fall into darkness. It was not easy but when I decided that Christ was the way, I dedicated my life to the Lord. When I was younger I had a testimony of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I am now converted unto it. Going through personal confusion of how I should live my life was a blessing to me because I know it has given me a greater understanding of the Savior's atonement. It has also shown me how blessed I am to have the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and has instilled in me a burning passion to serve the Lord and dedicate my life to Him. I know this church is true with all my heart. I know that if I follow the teachings, keep my covenants with my Heavenly Father and live to please Him, I will return to live with Him again someday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by preparing to serve as a missionary for 18 months in California and bring this restored gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear. On sundays I attend church and teach the 3 and 4 year olds. I attend scripture study classes on Tuesday nights in which we study both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I also try to be involved in service and projects intended to help those in need. I study the scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father daily. I know how impotant it is to stay close to God in this time where so many things try to pull us away from Him.
