Hi I'm Deven

I play basketball, ride horses, and love small towns. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm 21 years old and loving life!! One of my favorite hobbies, is Basketball, which is really more than a hobby. I've been playing for as long as I could throw the basketball high enough to make it into the basket. Any time of day, and I'm always up for a good game. Aside from basketball, my dad owns a lot of horses, so as you can imagine, I ride a lot of horses. It's a blast! I highly recommend it to anyone! I worked at a ropes course for a few years, and let me tell you what, nothing beats working outdoors. Climbing, hiking, and helping others have a really great time. Can't beat that!

Why I am a Mormon

My family raised me in this wonderful Church. As I've learned more and more each year, I get a stronger and stronger feeling that it really is true. As I read through The Book of Mormon, I have felt a strong feeling of peace, calmness, and joy that I know comes from My Heavenly Father. I absolutely love this Church, and I know that it is Jesus Christ's church! He's suffered for me, that I can have happiness if I turn my life over to him. All of this wrapped up into a few words: I am a Mormon, because I know this Church is True!

How I live my faith

I am striving every day to become more like Jesus Christ. He led a life of absolute service, so I think the best way to live my faith, is to serve people! Nothing beats shoveling someone's walkway when it's snowed a foot! There are a lot of other ways to serve as well. I also believe a crucial part of the Gospel is sharing it. Why keep to myself the best thing that's ever happened to me? The best part is there is always someone who needs it. Each and every day, I need to keep becoming better and better. The Savior taught us the most important commandment was to Love God, so putting myself aside and putting God first.
