Hi I'm Sara

I am studying to be a Waldorf teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying to be a Waldorf elementary school teacher. I like to sing, play the violin and I love to read fantasy books. I have been learning German since 6th grade and am now living in Germany with my husband. I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? That could be a really complex answer..however, the short and simplified version is this: I was born into a Mormon family, and when I turned 8, I decided to follow Christ's (and my parents') example and be baptized. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have never regretted that choice. ... ... Here's the somewhat longer version: I love God and Jesus Christ and I am so grateful for what Jesus did for us--he paid for our sins and made it possible for us to have HOPE! Without him we would all be lost. But with him--we can have it all! We can learn, make progress, return to live with God, and live with our families for eternity. It's amazing! Of course, in order to receive these blessings we need to obey God. He has given us commandments, such as the 10 Commandments (not stealing and coveting, etc.) but also others. One commandment is that we be baptized and make covenants (or two-way promises) with him. We promise to obey and follow Christ and he promises to bless and help us. And frankly, we could often use quite a bit of Godly help. And I have seen that help in my life. I have felt him guide me when I've been lost, comfort me when I've been discouraged and strengthen me when I've needed it. I am so grateful! All of my experiences help me know that I made the right choice to join Christ's church. So I am still here. I know God loves me and you--and I love him!

How I live my faith

In my local church congregation, I am a youth leader and I teach the young women (12-18year old girls). On Sundays we talk about Jesus Christ and how we can follow his example. Usually we get together once during the week as well to play ping pong, go bowling, bake cookies, watch movies,etc.--we like to have a good time! During the week I teach English to German children :). We sing English songs, recite English poems, play English games and generally try to enjoy the crazy English language :). My faith is a part of who I am, so I try to be Christlike--kind, understanding, patient--of course, it's not always easy, but it is a lot easier with God's help!
