Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in oroville California. I love sports, especially basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18 years old and am one of five kids (I'm number two). In high school I was involved in a lot of sports, including cross country, track, football, and basketball. My favorite subjects were history and English. In my spare time I enoy hanging out with my friends and family, playing sports, and reading. I'm considering going into sports medicine, but I'm not sure yet. One of my favorite things to do is to go to Barnes and Noble and just sit and read.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church, but I had to find out for myself that it is true. I lived a lot of my childhood believing the church was true, but it wasn't until I sincerely prayed about it and had faith in God that I received my answer for myself and knew that it was the true church on the earth today. Since then, my belief in the Gospel has only grown and I feel more and more the love that my Savior has for me. I'm continuing to follow His Gospel by serving a mission in Ghana for the next two years, where I hope to help others find that same happiness and peace that I have found through the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I am a hometeacher to different people within my ward. I help teach the youth in my ward about the blessings of the Gospel and how it can make our lives happier. I'm also a ward missionary and have the opportunity to go out with the full time missionaries a lot, which is awesome!

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Our bodies are a gift to us from our Heavenly Father, and like with gifts you might receive at Christmas, we need to take care of them. This is even more important when we realize that our bodies are a temple, which means that our body is the vessel for our spirit....essentially, its home. The better care we take of our bodies, the stronger our spirit is, and the bigger potential we have of a deeper and more meaningful relationship with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are so important to members of the Mormon Church because the family is where the most learning and teaching is done. Family bonds are also some of the strongest bonds we will ever experience. Our church also believes in the principle of eternal families, where, even after death, if the family has been sealed in the temple, they can keep those family bonds throughout eternity. This is what God intended for everyone. Show more Show less
