Hi I'm Tyler

I'm from California. I love being outdoors playing sports or going on adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities, soccer, track, hiking, camping, you name it. My buddies and I have discovered many of life's greatest secrets, and beauties, are in the outdoors. For instance we: climbed Mount Whitney, Mount Nebo (many other similar peaks), mountain biked in Moab, camped, adventured in the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, and played sports together. All of these places have their own unique beauty that can really inspire and manifest God's presence. I also love spending time with my family, especially during family game night!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is quite simply remarkable. Although I have grown up in the church since I was little, it's amazing to see how the church has impacted my life. The teachings of the church and its leaders have always helped me to know the difference between right and wrong. It has given me the knowledge I need to understand the consequences behind different choices, and really helped me to develop a since of confidence in myself. Furthermore, the church has given me a sense of direction in my life. I am not stuck trying to figure out who I am, where I'm going, or what my purpose is here. Instead, I know I am a son of God, and that I will return to live with Him again after this life. I have a testimony of the church's teachings and the council of its prophets past, present, and future. They will never lead you away from the light, and they will always help you find peace within yourself and with others. These are just a few reasons I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

The church emphasizes the importance of service. So, I've done a fair amount of service for our community within the church itself. For instance, you may have heard of "Mormon Helping Hands." I also participate in our youth group's service projects such as cleaning parks, cleaning up trash and debris from cemeteries, helping maintain elderly peoples yards, and of course Christmas caroling at assisted living facilities. In addition to this, I was a Boy Scout and earned my Eagle rank. I like showing my faith through acts of service, but I've shown it in other ways too. For example, I played soccer for my city's traveling team. Although we only rarely had a Sunday game I chose not to play on the sabbath because I believe it is important to have a day of rest to spend as a family and with God. Of course this choice wasn't always easy, especially when we made it to the championships, but I know God blesses those who heed his councils.
