Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a graduate student in the Air Force. I love my wife and I'm a proud father-to-be. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of six children in my family. I served a two year Mormon mission to Toronto, Canada where I proselyted and preached the gospel of Christ. After four intense years at the Air Force Academy and a long engagement, I graduated and was married to the girl of my dreams. We are expecting our first child later this year and I couldn't be happier.

Why I am a Mormon

My parent's raised me as a Mormon, so I grew up very familiar with the doctrines and teachings of Mormonism. Many have asked me how I know that this gospel is true when it's all I've ever known. I think that every member of the church must, at some point, face the challenge to discover for themselves the truth of the gospel, of Joseph Smith, and of the Book of Mormon, rather than relying on the testimonies of others. I faced this challenge before serving my Mormon mission. My first year at the Air Force Academy was very difficult, and in a sense compelled me to be humble and to rely on the Savior for help. I remember spending many nights reading from the pages of the Book of Mormon to find strength to press forward in my daily endeavors. When it came time to serve a mission, I decided that I needed to know for myself if the Book of Mormon was true. Anyone who comes to know that the Book of Mormon is true is inevitably led to the conclusion that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that the true church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth once more with living prophets and apostles. It was at this point in my life that I desired to know the truth, so that I could honestly say to the people I would meet on my mission, "I know for myself that this church is the Savior's true church." I remember reading my Book of Mormon night after night on a wooden bench underneath a street lamp on the academy grounds. After many nights of reading and praying, my heart burned within me and was filled with the Holy Ghost, and I could not deny that this was the Spirit testifying to me that what I was reading was true.

How I live my faith

I love to be involved in our local ward of church members. I am currently serving in a capacity where I coordinate efforts for the holders of the priesthood in our congregation to visit the members of our ward who are sick, afflicted, or who need a helping hand. In this capacity, I also help to coordinate opportunities for the members of our congregation to serve the community. These responsibilities are very fulfilling and help me to see the love our Heavenly Father has for His children.
