Hi I'm Steven

I'm a Dad, a full time student and I’m a Mormon

About Me

I love playing sports!! volleyball, soccer, and basketball are on the top of my list. I also enjoy snowboarding, indoor skydiving, and downhill mountain biking. My dream day would be mountain biking with my friends, and lounging in a hot tub after a sweet day of riding.. Throw in a pizza to top it off! In high school I played volleyball for 4 years, basketball and tennis for 1 year, and soccer for 3 years. I also became an eagle scout during those 4 years. It kept me busy and I loved every minute of it. Right out of high school i attended BYU- Idaho, taking general classes to get me started. One of the things I'm most excited about is going on my two year mission. I've been looking foward to this moment for a long time, and it's finally here.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the wonderful opportunity of being born into the church. As I grew up, went to church, and all the church activities I stayed in the church because you just have the best of feelings when you are with all of the members. There is no other place you can be so loved by such a large group of people (that’s always growing). Every 2 years us young men go on a week-long high adventure camp out, as a young man this is where you will feel the spirit greater than you ever have before. And it gets stronger and stronger every year. This is where so many hearts including mine have changed. When you are at camp it feels like you are on a different world! There are no distractions or anything else that will lead you away from the spirit. As a lot of people say we go there to get spiritually high. And as you are up there you grow such a great bond with your friends of the church, one that you will never forget. It is awesome that after camp you can see how greatly it has impacted all of our lives, and how much better we live our lives after. I am so glad that I was able to experience all of those great spiritually high moments that have made my testimony and my love for the church and its people, what it is today.

How I live my faith

When I was twelve years old I had the opportunity to be the president in my church class. And again when I turned fourteen. This was an awesome privilege for me because they don’t pick the oldest kid in the group,They pick someone who everybody can look up too.. I would have never picked myself to be a leader, ever! I didn't know what i was getting into, or if was I going to be able to handle the responsibility. I am one of those kinds of people that hates to let others down. So I really changed my life around so that I could lead those kids to the best of my ability. Now I work with kids between the ages of 4 and 12 as one my church callings. I love it! kids are my life. It really lightens up my week when i get to see them. I get to hang out with them, teach them, and watch them grow as a group and as individuals. Plus I get to learn from them!
