Hi I'm Austin

I live on a farm. I play a lot of basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the kind of person that will give almost anything a try. I like to have fun but I also really enjoying working, seeing as I live on a farm. My favorite thing to do is play basketball. I love the game and am always looking for an opportunity to play or practice. I have several other hobbies, though, such as playing the piano, wakeboarding, skiing, snowboarding, ping pong, billiards, and participating in church activities. During the summer I spend a lot of time going boating with my family. Boating is one of my favorite things to do because it allows my family to spend a lot of time together and has brought us closer together. This summer I will have the opportunity to serve an LDS mission in San Antonio, Texas. I'm really excited to be able to share the wonderful feelings that being a member of this church has given me with the people of the San Antonio area.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, so I didn't really choose to be a member or go to church every Sunday from the time I was little. These are decisions that my parents made for me for a long time. That is not the case anymore though. I have truly been converted through earnest scripture study, prayer, and a few trials that have increased my faith. I am a Mormon because I know for myself that this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith did restore the true church back to the Earth, and along with it the power of the priesthood. I know that Jesus Christ did live and that he died for me, to take upon him all of my sins and all of the sins of every person, so that I could return to live with my Father in Heaven. I know that President Monson is a prophet of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that it is a true book. I know that living a life in accordance with all of the teachings of this church leads to happiness and eternal life. My testimony has grown tremendously over the past few months. It means so much to me and is so strong. Because I know for myself that this is a true church, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything that I participate in, whether that be at church, at home, or maybe even on the basketball court. I have a couple callings in my ward including priest quorum first assistant and priesthood meeting pianist. With the calling as first assistant in the priest quorum I've been able to plan several activities that have benefited every member of the quorum. I have some great advisers and we plan activities that will provide service to someone, teach us about a career, and of course we plan activities where we can have a lot of fun. Being able to play the piano during the priesthood meeting has been a huge blessing in my life. Playing the piano is a skill that has done so much for me and I'm excited to possibly play the piano on my mission. I practice a few times every week in preparation for each Sunday. I live my faith through church callings but i also try to live it through everything that I do. I try to be a good person all of the time, and I feel like I do this because I am a member of this church.
