Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Houston, TX and I'm the only boy in a family of 5. I enjoy music, movies and theatre. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have enjoyed participating in theatre both in my high school and in college. I have attended one semester at Brigham Young University-Idaho. Some of my past jobs include working at Baskin Robbins and at J. Crew as a sales associate. While I was in high school, I spent time serving others while earning my Eagle Scout award and as a member of the service organization at my school. I enjoyed helping kids with special needs at a day camp as a counselor. I enjoy spending time with my family and one of my favorite vacations is to Disney World. I am a kid at heart and love all things Disney.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born in the church, I had to come to accept the gospel and know of its truthfulness for myself. There was a time in high school where I questioned it and was less active but as I studied the scriptures and prayed to my Heavenly Father to know of its truthfulness, my prayers were answered. I now know for myself that the gospel is true. I know that I am a son of my Heavenly Father and that he knows and loves me just as he knows and loves each of His children. The church has been such an important foundation and source of strength in my life. I know that by living the commandments and the teachings of Jesus Christ, I can progress and return to live with God again. This brings joy to my life and hope for the future. I know that we will all have trials and challenges in life but I also know that with God all things are possible.

How I live my faith

I have had various leadership positions in the youth organization of the church which have taught me how to work with others and how to set worthwhile goals. I have enjoyed being a home teacher with my dad and teaching an elderly couple in our ward for several years. It has been wonderful to get to know them and to try to find ways to serve them. I am getting ready to serve a mission for two years and I'm looking forward to sharing my faith with others and helping them to understand that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father.
