Hi I'm Jess

I was raised just north of Salt Lake City, Utah. I play tennis, run marathons, and love to eat ice cream. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my Freshman year at BYU. I'm studying Humanities and hope to go into something involving International Relations and journalism. I love to exercise, because I love to eat. I love to travel and visit any type of museum. I love boating on lakes, and swimming at the beach. I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in the California, San Jose mission speaking Spanish. I can already see how much a mission is changing my life. I'm learning to love people as our Savior does and through this I feel closer to God.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in this lifestyle and the promised blessings of living the commandments Jesus Christ taught us. This church is very family oriented and I believe families are dear and precious. There is so much good in this church and the main focus is living our lives to become more like our Savior. Living these standards and following in faith helps me to feel whole, and know that God lives and loves me. I know that this gospel is true. It brings me more joy than I can ever describe. Do not be discouraged for in this gospel there is hope, and through it we can overcome all things.

How I live my faith

Service is such a huge part of our church, we believe that service and charity are the pure love of Christ. For example when a severe windstorm damaged our area, our ward and all the others in the area spent the entire weekend cleaning up debris from neighbors' yards. I believe that we can feel closest to Christ when we are serving our fellowmen. As Christ said "Love thy neighbor as yourself." I strive to live that everyday and know that we are here on this earth to learn to love as our Savior did.
