Hi I'm Tanner

I've lived in Utah all my life. I'm a juggler. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 20 years old and am currently serving a full time mission in the Germany Frankfurt mission. I love learning trying to learn new things. Whether it be a language like German, or learning how to do things like Juggling. I am an avid lover of Mexican food, I worked at a small mexican resturaunt for about two years and loved getting to know new people. I love getting out and doing something physical. I grew up loving Basketball and got into playing Ultimate Frisbee, I actually started a team for my highschool right before I graduated. I love learning about history, especially about the Native American Indians and ancient Europeans, Those continue to be the subjects that fascinate me and I hope to get into History when I start college.

Why I am a Mormon

Nobody has ever forced me to join the church or to stay in it. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of the testimony I received after I read the Book of Mormon. There have been many times in my life where life got really hard and I didn't know I would ever come out okay. In those times when I went through hard trials, I read in the Book of Mormon and my aspect on life changed. I love going out and trying to help somebody out who looks like they are having a bad day. Even when the only thing I can do is smile, it is enough. I am convinced that this Church has been restored through a modern day prophet. Taking a simple glimpse of the message in the Bible testifies to me of its reality and truthfulness. I stay in the Church because I know that it is the right thing to do.

How I live my faith

I chose for myself to come out and to serve as a full time missionary. It has always been one of my ultimate dreams to come out and to even serve in Germany. Even from a young age I had a strong desire to go and represent our Savior Jesus Christ just as I had seen my brothers do. In my time in the Church I have been given the opportunity to give a lot of time and effort to go and serve other people. I was often asked to lead a group of peers to go and serve members and non-members alike in our neighborhood. We did projects like yard work, construction, and we helped more people move either in or out than I can count. I often went out with my dad and we would go and visit people in our community that simply needed someone to talk with. These opportunities gave me the chance to learn and to share my love and the love of my Savior with them.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Tanner
When you search the scriptures you will most often find Christ teaching and administering to anyone who needed help. His service wasn't rendered only to his Apostles or to those who proclaimed to follow him. Christ was the champion of going out and helping anyone that would accept his help. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we try to also follow this example and lend a helping hand to everyone, member and non-member. Missionaries are sent out to primarily teach and to clarify to those who do not understand what exactly we believe. The LDS church has one of the largest Humanitarian Aid efforts in the whole world and we do not withhold our hands to anybody simply because they "aren't a member". We go through with all of this effort because of the example of Jesus Christ and because we love everyone as children of God. Show more Show less
