Hi I'm Alissa

I am just a normal girl who loves food and the outdoors. Sports and exercise are my passions. I grew up in Utah, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the youngest and only girl of 4 children. I have lived in Utah my whole life but that doesn't mean that I don't have a desire to travel the world. I love to learn about others as well as other cultures. I love to exercise whether that is from running, hiking, or CrossFit. I love to have fun and to have a good laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a LDS home so I have had this influence my whole entire life. When I was younger you could say that I relied on the teachings and testimony of my parents and didn't really learn for myself. However, as I have gotten older I have had a desire to know for myself whether or not this gospel is true. This knowledge didn't come all at once. It came little by little as I showed my faith and acted on my faith to have the knowledge and testimony that I have now. I have had many trails in my life and I anticipate and pray for more trails because it is through these trails that my testimony is strengthened. My life isn't easy, I struggle everyday but the Lord gives me strength to continue. I know that our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ love me and I have felt that love so many times in my life even if I feel I might not have deserved it. I know that this gospel is true, that we have a living prophet on the earth today. And in the times that we feel completely alone and inadequate, there is a hand reaching out to us. The Savior is a beacon of light in the darkness and because of his atoning sacrifice, we can return and live with our Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith be going to church for 3, yes 3 hours, every Sunday. When I was younger I was in a young woman's group and we would have activities during the week as week. However, those are not the only times that I live my faith. I choose to live my faith every day through prayer and scripture study. My faith influences every part of my life that it is a lifestyle. While this might seem crazy to people to devote so much time to a religion, it is who I am. This lifestyle of trying to draw my life closer to my Savior Jesus Christ is what brings me happiness every single day.
