Hi I'm Lizzy

I'm an adventure seeker, a writer, a people lover and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Alberta, Canada, but at the age of six moved to the United States and have been living all over the U.S. since then. My current and most permanent residence is in Annapolis, Maryland and I love it! I live with my mom, brother, and sister, we are about as close as a family can be. They are the most important people to me and I love them without condition or measure. Growing up with my mom as a single parent for most of my life has taught me to be very independent and find peace and strong male role models within the LDS church. I attend Brigham Young University- Idaho, which in my book is the best University anyone could ask for. It has been an incredible experience to attend University with students who have the same values as me. It has helped me turn my passions into a possible career and helped me meet life altering friends. Oh and I can deal with the snow a little better thanks to Idaho, which is great because I will be spending the next 18 months of my life serving a mission in Warsaw, Poland. It is a very intimidating decision to decide to give 18 months of your time, away from your family and everything familiar, to go and serve The Lord, but my mom has always taught me to be service oriented and I know this experience will shape my life and who I am. I hope one day to be a mother of LOTS of kids, to write something great and to experience literally everything life has to offer, through traveling, trials, and trying my best to seize the day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is a full and true gospel. After reading The Book Of Mormon I felt of it's truth. I know that Joseph Smith is a man of God and was sent to the earth at a specific time to restore The Lord's true church. I am a Mormon because every week at church I feel the spirit of The Lord confirm to me that I am where I need to be. I am buoyed up with courage and strength through the teachings of church leaders and I have seen blessings and miracles in my life from the power of God. I am a Mormon because this church teaches truths and I feel God's love everyday.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by never forgetting that I am a child of God. What a powerful knowledge that is. I have a purpose on this earth and I know where I'm going after. I try to be a light and friend to those close to me. I feel that my sense of humor is a gift and I love to make people smile and laugh. Through church leadership programs I have had the opportunity to pitch in in times of need for my community after experiencing devastating hurricanes and other natural disasters. I participate in a women's program that focusses on strengthening the family, understanding your importance as a mother and daughter of God and learning how my innate womanly virtues are a power to me and the world. It has provided me with knowledge, strength, comfort and beautiful friendships. I try to remember that happiness is a choice in life and God gave us the ability to choose, so why wouldn't I choose to be happy?
